Fig
A few shots of our home fig harvest. We have two amazing fig trees — this first one, in full sun, is resplendent every year.
As a family, we’re dehydrating a batch and making preserves and tarts. But the big mission this year: an autumnal dessert beer called, simply, Fig. There’s something very rewarding about picking from our fig tree knowing that we’ll soon be using them in a handcrafted beer. I’m not yet sure what the recipe is, but 32 is confident about this one. He’s got a plan.
I can’t wait.

I am excited to try the fig beer when it comes! I’m not even a beer drinker but your crazy flavors make me try them anyway.
Becca — we sometimes joke about making “beer for people who think they don’t like beer.” Great blog, by the way! I’m realizing I should have attended Ignite Raleigh. (But not the American Idol concert.)
I also attended a Def Leppard show on Friday and a gypsy jazz show on Sunday–shows you how diverse my music tastes are.
They are nearly as diverse as my taste in alcoholic beverages!
Fig beer, must try! I believe I’ve heard you mention rhubarb before too – yum! I hope your beer is accessible soon.
