A series of fortunate events

BACKYARD BEER FESTIVAL — TICKETS BE GONE
The Backyard Beer Festival is Saturday. 32 and I are really geeked up about it. 4pm to 7pm is the homebrew tasting, and 7pm to 9pm is the Triangle-area premiere of ”The Room.” (At least I think it’s the Triangle-area premiere. No hatin’ if I’m wrong.)

I’m so excited about both “amateur” events. It’s going to be an amazing day.

So how many of you know about The Room? It seems a growing number have heard about it, but few have seen it. I’m not sure how much to tell you about this movie. There’s really two parts to it: the movie itself, and the live experience.

I’ve seen the movie three times, but I’ve never experienced it with a crowd. I’m guessing very few of you have. For those coming out on Saturday, we will have something magical to share. I think we all need to go to Honey’s afterward and talk about it.

Room-savvy individuals are strongly encouraged to come dressed up as your favorite character. (I currently have Denny’s hair, but I am aspiring to Johnny’s level of awesomeness).

Here are two articles that capture the essence of The Room.

Now, don’t think for a second that all this giddiness over the “Citizen Kane of Bad Movies” means that we’re not excited about the homebrew. Au contraire. We have an amazing selection of homebrew from a dozen folks…including some Fullsteam offerings.

It’s the combination of home-brewed beer and a home-grown movie that has me all jazzed up.

Lastly, for you kind readers who have been asking to attend only the movie, I have a paltry offer for you. Come to the Fullsteam warehouse at 7pm. We’ll be done with the homebrew portion of the evening, and at that time, we can assess whether or not we can accommodate any additional people. Please bring your own chairs to sit in (we’re asking this of all attendees).

We make no promises, but if a number of people (errantly) leave the warehouse and open up capacity for the movie, we’d love to have you. If it doesn’t work out, we’ll be showing the movie frequently at Fullsteam.

In the meantime, here’s a final teaser. If the sound seems off (not matching up with the characters), it’s not a You Tube issue. Trust me.
