We at Fullsteam have been serving up “Southern-style” beer for six weeks now. Have you had a chance to try us out? Whether you’ve never had a Fullsteam beer or you’re in the running to be our foursquare mayor, here are three great opportunities to see what we’re up to today…all in Durham!

• Visit our family-friendly beer garden/brewery/tavern/event space/whatever it is! We’re serving up $4 Summer Basil, Carolina Common, Rocket Science IPA, and a Sunday “Workers’ Compensation” special: a 20-ounce imperial pint of El Toro cream ale! We’re at 726 Rigsbee Avenue at the corner of Geer and Rigsbee. We’re open from noon to 10pm today.

• Attend the Whole Foods 30th birthday celebration! It’s at the Whole Foods Durham location on Broad Street. We’re bringing some Summer Basil and Rocket Science IPA. Here’s their write-up:

We’re so excited to work for a company in its 30th year of awesomeness! Join us for music, cake, kids activities, food (of course!!) and, what may be the most exciting part: 11 Local Beer Vendors setting up a mini-beer festival just for you! There will be $2 microbrews available for purchase while you hang out and enjoy the festivities.

• It’s a hipster trifecta: vinyl, barbecue, and craft beer! Fullsteam Rocket Science IPA and Carolina Common on-tap and available for purchase. The good stuff is coming full-force from the Nasher this summer!

BBQ AND VINYL LISTENING PARTY

Artist Xaviera Simmons will play her 12-inch record commissioned for The Record. For her Thundersnow Road project, Simmons created photographs of the North Carolina landscape and solicited musical responses from musicians such as Mac McCaughan of Superchunk, Harrison Haynes of Les Savy Fav, Tunde Adebimpe of TV on the Radio and Jim James of My Morning Jacket. Special guests will play some of their favorite records. The listening party is free, and North Carolina BBQ and beer will be available for purchase.
