Support a local treasure

The Lucy Daniels Center is a local treasure.
It also needs your help.
I first became familiar with the Lucy Daniels Center through a business mentor of mine: his wife is a long-time director of the school. Shortly thereafter I learned that a boy in our neighborhood — a friend of my daughters — was attending the school to help him cope (and work to overcome) some significant mental health challenges.
More recently, a good friend of the brewery, Dean McCord (he of the blog Varmint Bites and the newest board member of the Southern Foodways Alliance) has rallied around the Good Work of the Lucy Daniels Center. He has spearheaded a fundraiser that we’d like you to attend.
It’s a barbecue plate fundraiser like none you’ve ever had.
Join Fullsteam at Poole’s Diner on Sunday, November 7, as acclaimed chef Ashley Christensen piles on the barbecue — with all the sides — in support of the Lucy Daniels Center. Drop in between 5:30 and 8:30 p.m. for a heaping plate of Chef Christensen’s take on the Southern tradition plus sides and dessert. Fullsteam is donating the beer for this dinner (Hogwash and Fullsteam).
Tickets are $75 for adults and $35 for children (14 and under), all but $25 of which is a tax-deductible gift to the Lucy Daniels Center. Proceeds go to the Family Support Fund, which helps offset the full cost of mental health services provided to children at the Center.

Thank you so much for considering this important fundraiser. It should be a great evening, with an amazing impact.
Cheers,
Sean
