Helios beer dinner!

hoo boy I hope I'm not in trouble for this mash up

We’re excited and honored to partner with the creative minds at Cafe Helios in Raleigh. They’ve never done a beer dinner before, and Fullsteam is their first — how cool is that! The menu they’ve put together is starting off with quite a bang, and at $40 a person (plus tax and tip), it’s a great evening.

Plus, it’s your last chance to try Fullsteam’s first R&D offering: “Jerk,” a Jamaican Red Ale aged on brewery-grown Golden Cayennes and Carrboro’s own Pluto’s Spices.

The amazing menu is below. Seriously, check out how things stand out as particularly creative: the first-course chicken plays off the tropical flavors of the Caribbean without duplicating the beer’s spices…the soup pairs unexpectedly with Hogwash, instead of the more expected and perhaps traditional sweet potato lager. This is a well-thought-out menu that will delight and satiate.

1st Course
White wine braised chicken with grilled cinnamon pineapple.
Jerk (Jamaican-influenced red ale aged on golden cayenne)

2nd Course
Butternut squash soup with crispy lardons and fried chive batons
Hogwash hickory-smoked porter

3rd Course
Local mixed greens with apple cider and whole grain mustard vinaigrette, whipped goat cheese, shredded radishes
Carver sweet potato lager

4th Course
Fullsteam-braised short ribs with pumpkin puree and a fennel ragout
Fullsteam

5th Course
Full Moon Pie provided by Kim Hammer at Bittycakes
Workingman’s Lunch MoonPie Stout

Local and organic produce provided by New Grass Gardens
