Carver takes a sabbatical

From the Good News / Bad News department:

Fullsteam will be taking an approximately one-month break from brewing our Carver sweet potato lager.

Carver at Rest.

Our German-engineered brewhouse was meant to make classic Euro lagers in a brewpub setting. It wasn’t designed for a production brewery to brew 250 pounds of sweet potato, “Neiheitsgebot”-inspired beer.

In order to brew Carver, we need to fix and upgrade our mash rakes and repair a broken motor. While the rakes are in the shop, we can brew everything but Carver, a beer with a very sticky mash.

We have a few kegs left of Carver that we’ll offer at the tavern. Commercial accounts: we’ll be in touch to chat about beer options.

We apologize for the lapse in service. Carver will be back in a few weeks, perhaps better than ever.

So what’s the good news? A break in Carver allows us to introduce a seasonal beer or two, and maybe even bring back a familiar crowd favorite. We’re not ready to announce specifics, as we’re still working out our brew schedule (and timing the harvest). Stay tuned for details!
