Amanda Whitton

Office Manager

Amanda started her Fullsteam tenure assisting with events. But it was her can-do attitude, keen eye toward fixing broken tools and processes, and organizational skills that quickly elevated her to a key administrative role.

F: Your job is quite varied, with responsibilities ranging from tavern to deliveries to finance. Have you found there's a routine to the work, or is every day different?

AW: There's a routine that you get into, but there are always things that pop up that are new and unique, for sure. Generally speaking, the best bet is to plan for a day, and then be ready to do something completely outside of that plan if necessary! It's what keeps it interesting.

F: What's your favorite (and least favorite) part of the job?

AW: Unfortunately my job has me behind a computer a fair amount of the time, which is a mixed bag for me. It's really neat to see everything working behind the scenes and make sure everything flows correctly, but I also thrive on interaction, so love getting out and helping on the canning line, or talking to employees, or just walking through the brewery and learning something new from a brewer.

F: How do you cheer yourself up during COVID-19? Any new hobbies you've picked up?

AW: Like everyone else it seems, I took up gardening! I have one, very nice, green bell pepper to show for it.

F: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would you go?

AW: Scotland! It's always Scotland for me though - no matter the time or situation. I just love the light in that area around this time of year...even if it only lasts for a few hours.

F: You started out in events. What's a favorite event you helped run for Fullsteam?

AW: I liked the private ones a lot - they were more intimate and you dealt with some cool people. The NC Rare and Vintage was a fun one, though if we're being honest my favorite was Curds and Crafts, the cheese festival.

F: What's your favorite Fullsteam beer these days?

AW: Anything light and fruity! I'm not a huge hop head, so I like it when we pivot into the lighter, fruitier options come summertime. Hence, my all-time favorite always being Southern Basil. Does that make me basic?
