Since our first first batch of Southern Basil farmhouse ale, way back in 2010, we've intentionally brewed with local grains, seasonal harvests, and even foraged and wild ingredients to support farmers and agricultural entrepreneurs.

Our vision is to pioneer and sustain a Truly Local Beer Economy -- from farmer and forager to maltster, brewer to distributor, retailer to beer drinker.

(Creating economic opportunities through beer what I've done now for twenty years, starting with an effort to lift an archaic 6% ABV alcohol cap.)

As we approach $1mm in local farm spending, we're excited to realize this vision of a truly local beer economy in a post-tobacco South.

Looking ahead, we're transitioning as much spending as we can to BIPOC-owned, women-owned, and other groups and individuals who historically haven't benefitted from the stability of land ownership. It's not enough to write checks to local farmers

Farm equity and opportunity is long overdue, and local beer is one way we can help make it happen.
