Fullsteam ATC FAQ

We're serving beer Wednesdays in September at the Duke Arts at American Tobacco (come hang!) and, given that it's on the ATC lawn in front of our future space, we get asked a lot of questions about our plans.

Originally we wrote these ATC FAQs for our staff, but Chelsea had the genius idea to post the FAQ on our website. And, in case you're wondering, this is not Chelsea writing in third-person, even though that's totally something Chelsea would do.

When are you opening?

We don't have an exact date, and these things always take longer than planned. For now, our ideal target is the start of Bulls baseball next year.

What part of the building will you be in?

We're taking on most of the first floor. The stair side (right, if you're facing the building) will hearken back to Fullsteam at Rigsbee with a bar, table seating, and a full menu...plus lots of outdoor seating. It'll be open for lunch, dinner, and late night. We were originally going to call it "Fullsteam All-Day" but we're just calling it Fullsteam.

On the left—under the movie marquee—*will be a 200+ person private events space we're calling the "Stoker Club," a tribute to the boiler(s) that generated electricity for all of ATC.

Behind it, a 100-seat theater...

What about the theater?

The theater is staying! We'll incorporate it into Fullsteam programming (screenings, live performances, readings, sports). It'll also be available for private bookings and events - corporate functions, celebrations, etc.

What's your menu going to look like?

The food will be pub food with a Southern, seasonal focus. No pizza - that'll be at Boxyard.

Will you brew on-site?

We couldn't figure out a logical place to brew beer. Instead, the 22-tap bar system (from Rigsbee) will feature our seasonal beer, cider, wine, and non-alcoholic offerings we'll be making at our Rocky Mount facility an hour east of Durham. We'll also offer our core year-round beers like Paycheck, Rocket Science, and Lucky's Lager. Well also have a full bar featuring local and North Carolina spirits.

Can I have my private event at the space?

Absolutely! The space will feature a 30-seat private party "den," a 100-seat theater, and the Stoker Club, which will accommodate groups up to 200 people. So, yes, we'll have a ton of opportunity for truly private parties, big, small, and in-between. That said, we're not yet accepting reservations: it's too early and risky. But hopefully by the beginning of the year we'll be ready to book for events for the second half of 2026.
