Pop! Pow! Razzmatazz!
Our very first Sour IPA was in collaboration with Charlotte's Wooden Robot as they prepared to open to the public, back around seven years ago. Since then, both breweries have continued to offer up fun versions of this twang-meets-hops combination...most notably for us, with our 9-VOLT series.
Hop Rox is a new chapter in the Sour IPA world: rather than sour mashing or kettle-souring, we simply used the WildBrew "Philly Sour" yeast strain to impart twangy and tart flavors...no tank souring required.
It's clean, bright, and refreshing. Just the right amount of Amarillo and Lemondrop dry-hopping add pithy citrus to the tart base. A delightful beer for hot days on the porch, and killer with a Bánh Mì. Not just saying that. It's totally true.
