Details on our tavern opening

We’re excited to open up our tavern/tasting room today. A quick schedule:

12 noon Sean on The State of Things
12 noon to 3pm friends/family/investor party
12:30 brewery blessing
4pm to 6pm Wall of Awesome party
6:14pm tavern officially open!

It’s hot. We’re doing what we can to cool things off, but please note that it’s hot in the warehouse.

Other notes:

  • Right now we’re beer only. Our soda machine should work soon and within a week we’ll have wine. But for now, it’s all about the beer.
  • Feel free to bring food, either your own or take-out from area restaurants. If you do bring food, please take bulky trash with you as you leave.
  • Our pints are $4. We will serve Rocket Science IPA, El Toro Cream Ale, Carver Sweet Potato, Summer Basil Farmhouse Ale, and Hogwash. We will probably run out of the Summer Basil pretty early on.
  • Our credit card machine is working!
  • You’ll receive a compostable 16 oz cup; please consider reusing it during the evening. Upgrades: a 16-ounce pilsner glass, yours to use for the evening and keep for $4. Or, for $20, a commemorative 0.5L mug (16.9 ounces). Again, yours to keep and use during the evening.
  • We’ll also have some neat “the adventure begins” posters for sale for $5 each. You can get them signed by us for a dollar less. :)
  • Bring quarters, for we have Baywatch pinball. OH yeah I’m eating a burger already.
  • PARKING: you can park across the street where MotorCo is setting up shop. Just watch for occasional pits and gravel piles.
  • MUSIC: Jason Harrod at 7pm; The Wigg Report at 8pm (fixed it, Vitzroy! FRESH!) Pass the hat. So be super generous if you can!
  • Please be patient with us as it’s our first day of business…we expect long lines, a hot warehouse, and a great time! If you want to check us out on opening weekend with less chaos, come by Saturday or Sunday afternoon. For this opening weekend, we’ll be open Saturday noon to close and Sunday noon to 8pm.

What did I miss? Post here and I’ll do my best to answer.

Cheers! Wahoo and thank you!

Oh hai Raleigh

On the heels of great success at Tyler’s Taproom (9 kegs in one night? Wow!)…we’re launching in Raleigh! Look for Fullsteam at:

  • Busy Bee Cafe on MONDAY (6pm kickoff) – Carver Sweet Potato and Summer Basil Farmhouse Ale, including special “plow-to-pint” food pairings!
  • Flying Saucer on WEDNESDAY (7pm). Pint night featuring El Toro Cream Ale and Summer Basil. Keep the mason jar for $2 more!
  • Flying Saucer on SATURDAY (4pm). Southern cookout on the patio! All five Fullsteam beers (5 ounce samples), barbecue, and sides for freakin’ $20!
  • Poole’s Diner and Foundation…details coming soon!

We will update this post with Raleigh news and create a new one for Durham. Please be patient with us if you’re interested in our beer, either as a consumer or a bar/restaurant patron. Some beers are in limited supply until later in the week, when we’re freed up and really ready to roll. Also, we’re a sales “force” of one…who also happens to be the driver and the CEO…so please be patient with us as we get rolling and get comfortable with the whole self-distribution process. Before two days ago, I had never delivered beer (commercially) to an account. We’re learning…and thrilled to serve you. Hopefully as we grow, we can afford to bring on permanent staff members dedicated to sales and fulfillment. In the meantime, please forgive us if we take a day or two to get back to you.

Cheers!

Tyler’s Durham launch event: 5pm

Just a quick blog update to let you know that the official kick-off of Fullsteam Brewery is today (Thursday July 29th) at Tyler’s in Durham! ****5pm*****

Beers will be on-tap starting sometime in the mid-to-late afternoon, but the official kickoff is at **5pm.** Not 6, as I had originally written on Facebook.

While we have five kegs, we only have one each of Summer Basil Farmhouse Ale, Carver Sweet Potato, and Hogwash hickory-smoked porter. (We have plenty of El Toro Cream Ale and Rocket Science IPA).

Once these plow-to-pint kegs are kicked (whenever that may be), we won’t be able to replace them for a week or so. We’re still finalizing build-out and the current lack of a cooler presents a logistical challenge — one that will be solved very soon.

So getting there early might be a good thing.

All of us from Fullsteam will be on hand, and I think we’ll have a little merch stand for t-shirts and the fun mason jars that’ll serve as our serving vessels for the evening. (cash only for the merch)

Come celebrate if you can, and please note the starting time: 5pm.

MANY THANKS TO TYLER’S FOR HOSTING THIS GREAT EVENT!

Cheers,

Sean Lilly Wilson
